At Forestville, all children take part in a weekly music lesson with a specialist music teacher.

K-2 lessons are half an hour in length, whilst in Year 3-6 the lesson length increases to one hour.

Children participate in a wide variety of music activities covering all three main areas of primary music education; performing (singing, playing, moving), listening and organising sound.

During these varied activities children are introduced to the musical concepts through a wide range of musical repertoire across many styles and eras. Each year visiting artists such as Musica Viva and OzOpera provide the children with fantastic musical experiences, and long lasting memories.

All music lessons at Forestville take place in a fun and supportive environment where all children are encouraged to ‘have a go’.
